These Terms of Use apply to TheNetwork.cam, a minimalist social platform (aka "the platform").

Summary.

• We don’t sell your data.
• We don’t run ads or use tracking cookies.
• We only collect the minimum information needed to run your account and display your posts.
• You can delete your account or request your data at any time.

What We Collect.

We collect only what’s necessary to operate the platform:

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in, and a "back navigation" cookie to improve navigation.

We do not use any tracking, analytics, or marketing cookies; we do not track anything about your prior activity (i.e. what you were doing before visiting the platform); and we do not track your activity within the platform.

How We Store Data.

We do our best to pick subprocessors we trust to keep our data safe.

We use the following services:

Authentication is handled using NextAuth.js, an open-source library, with a custom OTP (one-time password) flow.

We considered encrypting all posts and profiles - but doing so would break features like search. Instead, we focused on minimising what we collect and giving you control over your visibility. Keep that in mind when you are deciding what information to post here. See our Code of Conduct. for more details.

We're always open to feedback if you think we could be doing better.

Tools We Use (No Tracking).

We use the following open-source tools to build the platform. These do not process user data independently:

• Next.js — Fullstack web framework.
• Prisma — database ORM.
• TypeScript — programming language.
• NextAuth.js — authentication library.

Your Rights (Under GDPR).

As a user in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

• Access any personal data we hold.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and data.
• Withdraw consent at any time.

Data Transfers.

Some of our providers (e.g., Vercel, Supabase) may process data in the United States or other countries.

They all provide GDPR-compliant Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

Children's Data.

This platform is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect or store data from children.

Changes to This Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the platform or legal requirements. If changes are significant, we’ll notify you by email.
